The Suburbs is a popular YouTube based, web series created, produced, edited and directed by Charles Plummer. An online reality docu-drama, it documents the lives of several teenagers living in the towns of southern Westchester, New York.[1] It differs from the usual reality show in that it is structured as a fictionalized television drama or soap opera rather than a straightforward observant documentary. With downtown New Rochelle, New York, and the heights area of Mount Vernon, New York being prominent backdrops in the series, each webisode runs for about 10-15 Minutes, followed by a second video usually containing the ending of a webisode and/or outtakes/bloopers. The show was on a recording hiatus from November 2009 - May 2010. The 5th and final season began in January 2011 and the final episode aired on May 30th, 2011 on YouTube.
